Cupcakes for a Bonfire

I baked these cupcakes for a bonfire once upon a time ago. Just follow any basic vanilla cake recipe.

For the icing, I just mix water with confectioner's sugar until I go a thick paste and added pink icing coloring. For decorations, I used red sugar, rainbow sprinkles, chocolate jimmies and maraschino cherries.

The frosting is just a basic vanilla frosting recipe that I split into three parts. One was colored a light blue, one was colored a light mint green and one was left its white color. Then I put it into a piping bag with a star tip with a dollop of colored icing and a dollop of white icing and piped that. On the bottom right hand cupcake, you can faintly see the effect this gives. Just click on the picture to get a larger view.

CAT RESCUE

It's important to always help animals when you can, even if they aren't yours. A few minutes of your time and a little food can save their life. I take in stray dogs and give them baths whenever I see them on the street. I let them sleep in my room and call all my friends and relatives to find them a new home. Taking a personal approach instead of using the easy way out and calling Animal Control means life or death to these animals. Four million cats and dogs are euthanized every single year. That's equivalent to massacring everyone in Puerto Rico.

Dress I'm Wearing to a Wedding

So this is the dress I'm wearing to the wedding (see my latest Mitchie Moments video.)

What kind of makeup should I do with it? A simple dramatic winged liner with falsies? A sultry smokey eye? A dewy, light and summery look?

Ideas people... I NEED ideas.

I'll sing you a song if you do.

Purple Doll Eyes

Purple and brown eyes is just something that will never go old. If you didn't know, the color purple makes brown eyes pop(:

Truth be told, I've never worn purple eyeshadow before. I always thought that it'd make me look like I just got punched in the eye... but these purples are so pretty and sparkly and just... summer-y.

Oh, and another truth be told? I wanted to do this look so that I'd have a nice and decent Facebook profile picture(: Yes, I'm one of those girls that will get all dressed and pretty for my profile picture. Too bad my bangs weren't cooperating with me that day. It was quite a sad sight for sore eyes.

What I used:

-ULTRA LUXURY Brow Liner in Light Golden Brown
-Too Faced Shadow Insurance
-Perfectly Paired Dual-Ended Shadow Stick in Berry Blissful
-Max Factor eyeshadow in Vintage Vixen
-Bare Minerals Eyeshadow in Water Lily
-MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
-Covergirl Lashblast Length Mascara
-L'oreal Voluminous Mascara
-Duo Lash Glue
-Makeup For Ever HD Foundation in #127
-ELF Facial Whip in Spotlight
-ELF High Definition Powder
-The Beauty Encyclopedia for Lips
-Maybelline Shinylicious lipgloss in Pink Twirl

Brush Cleaning Day

I can honestly say that I hate brush cleaning day. I try to delay it as far as I can by using MAC's brush cleaner... but we all know how grody brushes can get when you put off "deep cleaning" them for a while.

I mean, standing by your sink rinsing, cleaning and repeating gets really old after thirty minutes. Then your hands get all pruny and just gross.

But it must be done... which is a total bummer. The toughest brushes are those angled liner brushes that you use for gel liner and kabuki brushes. The gel liner just cakes around the bristles and is a pain to scrub out and kabuki brushes are next to impossible to get nice and clean because they are so thick.

Brush cleaning day sucks.
